Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for the lifecycle of IT inventory and asset control from initial receipt to final disposal. This includes maintaining records of materials in inventory and on order, monitoring reorder points and initiating action to replenish stock, and reconciling discrepancies in inventories. This position will oversee the receiving of all IT procurement inventory and is the initial point of contact for all customer issues related to inventory and inventory storage. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

1. Monitor and maintain current inventory levels; establish restocking level and reorder items as necessary.
2. Track orders and work with vendors to solve any shipping and delivery issues.
3. Perform physical count of inventory and reconciles actual stock count to computer-generated reports; investigate and report reasons for discrepancies and notify supervisor of irregularities.
4. Oversee receiving of deliveries, ensuring order accuracy; process and document returns as required.
5. Move shipments into appropriate warehouse for stocking or back-stock.
6. Keep a clean and safe working environment, optimize space utilization, label shelves.
7. Prepare reports on price lists, inventory balance, and shortages; recommend disposal of defective, unusable, or obsolete items in storage.
8. Coordinate final disposal of all IT inventory and equipment with the appropriate departments.
9. Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures.
10. Train other staff as needed.
11. Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives.
12. Report all safety-related concerns to supervisor.
13. Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work.

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)

• Associate degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

• Demonstrated professional experience gained from experience with receiving/inventory control.
• Professional experience using inventory software, databases, and systems

Desirable Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent field.
• Professional knowledge of IT asset management
• Experience working in higher education
• Experience working in an IT procurement environment
• Experience using Helpdesk/Issue Management Software

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)

• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records, control, monitoring, and coordination skills.
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to perform business math (basic algebra, compute rate, ratio, etc.)
• Ability to analyze and create solutions and procedures for recurring problems.
• Exhibit organizational efficiency with the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills related to IT topics
• Demonstrated desire to continue learning new and applicable software applications.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
• Demonstrated commitment to contribute to a safe work environment.
