The Department of Computer Science in the College of Computing at Michigan Technological University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor. Advancement and Alumni Engagement Business Systems Analyst/Data Visualization Specialist Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Business Systems Analyst/Data Visualization Specialist is a member of the Advancement Services team and works with departments across campus to provide a wide range of alumni and donor information. The primary responsibility of this position is supporting Michigan Tech’s alumni and donor information systems and working closely with users to understand their data needs. The role includes collaboration with senior engineers and scientists to research, design, and evaluate reinforcement learning strategies and algorithms for various applications related to multi-agent autonomy and games. A successful candidate will have a solid background in mathematics and experience in reinforcement learning with the desire to apply these concepts to engineering challenges. Director for Charitable Giving Remote, Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Director for Charitable Giving is responsible for securing gifts of $25,000 and greater to support the university’s programs, priorities, and initiatives. This position will spend 40% of their time serving as the liaison for Athletics and Recreation and 60% fundraising for university-wide priorities as assigned by the Executive Director for Charitable Giving. The Director will utilize a moves management system to identify, strategize, and document all gifts. Through collaborative efforts with the fundraising team and strategic actions to advance donor portfolios, their focus is meeting and exceeding yearly metrics to attain campaign goals. The Director will travel to interact with alumni and friends of the university and professionally represent the mission and vision of Michigan Tech. Postdoctoral Scholar Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
A postdoctoral associate position is available at Michigan Technological University (Michigan Tech) to conduct research on coastal processes and data assimilation for the Great Lakes system to promote resilient coastal communities. This project will focus on expanding our previous efforts in assimilating field data for Lake Erie and Lake Michigan to Lake Superior and aims to assimilate available historical data with a high-resolution hydrodynamic model to generate the best available reanalysis of the long-term physical and ecological database for Lake Superior. The database will further assist decision-makers, coastal managers, and ecosystem/ecological modelers in planning and evaluating restoration efforts for the Great Lakes over a much longer time horizon, providing the necessary baseline physical information from which to inform historical assessments and scenario projections.
