Department Chair, Civil, Environmental, & Geospatial Engineering Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The College of Engineering at Michigan Technological University (Michigan Tech) invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering (CEGE) to begin July 1, 2026. The CEGE department includes 32 faculty, seven professional staff, more than 125 graduate students, and over 600 undergraduate students, with robust research and teaching programs spanning infrastructure resilience, intelligent and reconfigurable structures, advanced and automated construction, environmental and public health, sustainable water infrastructure and environmental systems, transportation and mobility, geospatial analytics, and climate adaptation.
Senior Research Engineer Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Michigan Technological University is seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) position that serves as an advocate and technical resource for Michigan’s local (city, village, county) agencies. The position will provide engineering technical support for activities underway at the Center for Technology & Training, which includes work with the Michigan Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP), the Great Lakes Environmental Infrastructure Center (GLEIC), the Bridge Load Rating Program, the Roadsoft asset management software package, and other research projects. The position requires a strong background in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation (roads or bridges), or environmental infrastructure (drinking water, sewer, and storm water systems).
Assistant Professor, College of Computing Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The College of Computing at Michigan Technological University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the area of cybersecurity. Primary consideration will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level, though candidates with appropriate experience and accomplishments may be considered for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor. We encourage applicants with expertise in security, privacy, machine learning for security, cloud security, cryptography, data integrity, information governance, risk management, penetration testing, auditing, digital forensics, cyber-physical systems security, and related areas. This is a 9 month, full time position. While the schedule varies, it will be mostly 2nd shift .

Work is performed in accordance with instructions and schedules provided, with results regularly inspected. Provide excellent customer service to a wide variety of internal and external customers. These are full time, (40 hrs per week), 12 month positions.
