Job Description Summary The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for one or more faculty positions at the assistant or associate level, to begin in the fall semester of 2021. The department seeks forward-looking individuals who will develop vigorous research programs; who are skilled at translating new and exciting discoveries into effective graduate and undergraduate teaching in both face-to-face classrooms and on-line courses. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) Develop strong research and graduate educational programsTranslate new and exciting discoveries into effective undergraduate and graduate teaching activities both face-to-face and onlineDevelop an externally funded research program in electrical engineeringAdvise graduate student research at the MS and PhD level and involve undergraduates in researchParticipation in department and university committeesIntegrate safety practices into daily activitiesCommit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work, as well as University and ABET Assessment activitiesAbility to learn and leverage new teaching technologiesOther duties as assigned Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements) An earned Ph.D. degree in electrical or computer engineering or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment. Required Experience (minimum requirements) Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levelsA record of research and scholarship in electrical or computer engineering Desirable Education and/or Experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements) Ability to teach all levels of undergraduate courses as well as graduate courses and advanced offerings in their particular areas of interest and expertise. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
