Job Description Summary

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Michigan Technological University invites applications and nominations for a faculty position opening, at the lecturer level in biomedical engineering. Michigan Tech BME seeks outstanding candidates who can add to our existing teaching and research strengths in multiple research areas. Those with an MS and teaching experience are encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

The successful candidate will be expected to teach core undergraduate courses in Experimental Laboratory Techniques, Biomaterials, and/or Biomechanics, or other BME core courses, as well as help supervise senior design projects.

The opportunity to teach a graduate level course related to their own research expertise exists.

Employees are required to apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work and expected to commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work.

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)

MS in an engineering discipline or a closely related field.

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

None

Desirable Education and/or Experience

PhD in an engineering discipline or a closely related field.
Teaching experience at the undergraduate level and experience with online teaching.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)

Strong engineering and mathematical skills.

Work Environment and/or Physical Demands

The work environment is that of a typical office and/or classroom setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
