Job Description Summary

Manage implementation of a new general education (Essential Education) program over a two-year period, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities in coordination with leadership team, monitoring and summarizing progress of project, and ensuring that the project stays within budget and that key deadlines are met. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing projects in an educational environment. Work closely with faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of this program while aligning with the institution's goals and objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

● Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with the Essential Education Implementation Team and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with educational objectives.
● In coordination with leadership team, develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including resource allocation, timelines, and budget
● Identify project dependencies, risks, and issues, and develop strategies to address them, taking into account the specific challenges of curricular projects.
● Coordinate project team members, including faculty, staff, and external partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
● Conduct regular project meetings with leadership team and stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and track progress.
● Manage project budget, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
● Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements, fostering flexibility and adaptability.
● Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership team.
● Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing among stakeholders.
● Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and quality, with a focus on supporting educational excellence.
● Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained, recognizing the importance of knowledge transfer and institutional memory.
● Conduct project post-mortems to identify lessons learned and apply them to future educational initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)

● Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

●At least three years of project management or related experience, with a demonstrated track record of successfully bringing projects to completion

Desirable Education and/or Experience

● Master’s degree in relevant field
● Experience managing projects in an educational setting

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders

● Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting
● Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

● Solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
● Proficiency in project management software and collaboration tools
● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to address challenges specific to educational initiatives
● Experience overseeing project budgets
● Demonstrated success in, or potential future contributions to, working with persons from diverse backgrounds, creating a sense of belonging, and fostering a fair, objective, welcoming place to work for persons with a wide variety of personal characteristics and viewpoints.
● Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
● Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 (Projects in Controlled Environments)
