Responsibilities and Essential Duties • In person teaching load of three courses per semester (9-12 credit hours) • Actively engaging with students inside and outside the classroom • Developing and updating curricula• Mentoring students • Coordinating multi-section courses • Must be willing and able to contribute to Department, University, and external professional service activities Required Education, Certifications, Licensures Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related discipline (or imminent completion by August 2026) Required Experience Demonstrated commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching Desirable Education and/or Experience • Demonstrated classroom excellence• Experience/interest in teaching courses to prepare students for Calculus• Experience with best practices for teaching and learning such as project based learning, interactive classrooms, etc.• Experience using automated/electronic/online homework platforms and/or Learning Management Systems (LMS)• Management responsibility for a full class (planning/scheduling/syllabuswriting/grading etc.)• Interdisciplinary experience with STEM education• Involvement with undergraduate research Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Learning Management Systems (LMS) Work Environment and/or Physical Demands The work environment is that of a typical office and/or classroom setting.
