This position will work as part of a team that provides training and customer support to bridge owners and their engineers/consultants on bridge design, load rating, and asset management. This position is also responsible for conducting small applied research projects in fields related to transportation infrastructure. This position serves as an advocate and technical resource for Michigan’s local (city, village, county) transportation agencies and will provide technical support for activities underway at the Center for Technology & Training, which includes work with the Michigan Local Bridge Load Rating and Inspection Support program and the Michigan Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP). The position requires a background in structural engineering.
