Simulation and Lab Coordinator Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Michigan Technological University Nursing Department is seeking a Simulation and Lab Coordinator to provide clinical, educational, and technical support and expertise in the development, implementation, and evaluation of simulation-based and clinical nursing activities across all levels. Primary teaching responsibilities will be teaching in the Simulation laboratory and the clinical setting. This position is responsible for coordinating the routine activities of the nursing simulation lab, maintenance of the lab environment, and supporting the development and maintenance of the nursing curriculum. The coordinator will work closely with the Program Director and nursing faculty in meeting program outcomes.
Custodian (12 month, part time) #24357RP Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Responsible for the performance of routine and special custodial duties in facilities and grounds as assigned. Work is performed in accordance with instructions and schedules provided, with results regularly inspected. Provide excellent customer service to a wide variety of internal and external customers. This is a part time, (0-40 hrs per week), 12 month position.
Structural Engineer Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
This position serves as a technical expert in the structural engineering of bridges and culverts. This position will work as part of a team that provides training and customer support to bridge owners and their engineers/consultants on bridge design, load rating, and asset management. This position is also responsible for conducting small applied research projects in fields related to transportation infrastructure. This position serves as an advocate and technical resource for Michigan’s local (city, village, county) transportation agencies and will provide technical support for activities underway at the Center for Technology & Training, which includes work with the Michigan Local Bridge Load Rating and Inspection Support program and the Michigan Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP). The position requires a background in structural engineering.
Research Engineer Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
This position serves as an advocate and technical resource for Michigan’s local (city, village, county) transportation agencies. The position will provide engineering technical support for activities underway at the Center for Technology & Training, which includes work with the Michigan Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP), the Great Lakes Environmental Infrastructure Center (GLEIC), the Bridge Load Rating Program, the Roadsoft asset management software package, and other research projects. The position requires a strong background in civil engineering (roads or bridges).
System Engineer Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The System Engineer will oversee the Torrefaction and STRAP Facilities; manage projects and data; negotiate and requisite new equipment; participate in the planning, and development of new systems in this area; and provide support and training for students, staff, researchers, faculty, and users.
Research Program Coordinator Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Chemical Engineering department seeks a Research Program Coordinator who will provide coordination of multi-funded research projects. This position will coordinate efforts which may include other collaborating agencies and institutions. Provides comprehensive research development support (including pre-and post-award proposal development and management) to faculty members and administrative assistance to center and department leadership. Coordinates on-campus and external outreach to help foster research growth.
Senior Research Engineer Scientist Translational Health Engineering Research Center (Grand Rapids, MI)
The Translational Health Engineering Research Center (THERC) at Michigan Technological University in West Michigan seeks to create, expand and accelerate research activities that improve the health of Michiganders. This will be accomplished by establishing a nationally visible research hub, promoting on- and off-campus collaborations with industry, researchers, and clinicians, and creating an environment that enhances external funding. THERC will be part of Michigan Tech’s Health Research Institute (HRI), which is comprised of 59 members from 14 academic departments across campus. We are a thriving, cooperative research community that sponsors activities to improve community health, graduate fellowship programs, a faculty mentoring program, and several social and networking events throughout the academic year. HRI is seeking a Senior Scientist or Engineer to join our interdisciplinary organization. Affiliation with academic departments is available to qualified candidates. Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Oversee the direction of the Men’s and Women’s Varsity Tennis programs at the NCAA Division II level. Responsible for recruitment, scheduling, practice/event preparation, budget management, fundraising and promotion. Assist the VP for Athletics and Recreation in a leadership role to enhance the internal and external visibility and recognition of the Michigan Tech Tennis Programs.
