Job Description Summary

The Coordinator of Community Conduct will assist the Assistant Dean of Community Conduct in administering the Student Code of Community Conduct and other policies and procedures as they pertain to students’ rights and responsibilities: in providing due process and educational outcomes that promote the quality of student life and community; in fostering students’ personal, academic, and ethical development; provide prevention and outreach to students’ and campus stakeholders; and provide support to the Assistant Dean of Academic Conduct as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

● Serve as a University official in the student conduct process for alleged violation of the Student Code of Community Conduct.
● Assist in investigating reports of alleged violations and/or inappropriate conduct.
● Assist in monitoring compliance with student conduct decisions.
● Assist in maintaining records of student conduct proceedings.
● Assist in preparing reports and assessing the student conduct process for educational outcomes and recommend policy revisions.
● Assist in cultivating relationships with stakeholders (faculty, students, staff, neighbors, local law enforcement, local government officials, local businesses, etc).
● Assist in utilizing social media platforms to communicate with stakeholders on behalf of the Office of Academic and Community Conduct.
● Assist in maintaining and updating the Office of Academic and Community Conduct website.
● Assist in selection, training, and coordination of the University Conduct Board.
● Provide oversight training and workshops for the campus community on conduct related issues and best practices.
● Assist in leading in campus wide effort to educate the community about the Student Code of Community Conduct.
● Assist the Title IX Prevention worker in Sexual Misconduct/Title IX Prevention work.
● Actively participate on appropriate University committees.

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)

• Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, education, public administration, social sciences, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

● At least two years of professional experience in student affairs, and/or other professional areas from which knowledge of due process in administrative decision making can be acquired.

Desirable Education and/or Experience

● Masters degree in higher education or a related field
● Professional experience in student conduct or criminal justice

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

• Experience developing, implementing, and/or using assessment practices to measure impact of programming/services.
• Experience using social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to communicate with students and other stakeholders.

• Demonstrated success in, or potential future contributions to, working with persons from diverse backgrounds, creating a sense of belonging, and fostering a fair, objective, welcoming place to work for persons with a wide variety of personal characteristics and viewpoints.

Required Training and Other Conditions of Employment
