The Research Engineer I will be responsible for setting up laboratory equipment for undergraduate engineering laboratory courses and for repairing, maintaining, and calibrating electrical and electronic equipment used in the department’s research laboratories. Will participate in maintaining department testing equipment. Provide technical support services, including installation of instrumentation and data acquisition systems. Serve as the topical expert on LabVIEW programming, instrumentation and data acquisition systems, electrical system and electronic component design, and debugging/testing of electrical and electronic equipment.

Director of Advancement Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Director of Advancement is responsible for cultivating and soliciting alumni and friends of Michigan Tech to secure philanthropic support in the form of major outright and planned gifts of $25,000 or more. The Director's primary responsibility will be to work closely with alumni in the College of Sciences and Arts (CSA) and will also work in coordination and collaboration with advancement colleagues to support all areas of Michigan Tech. The Director will manage a portfolio of assigned and qualified major gift donors and serve as a critical member of a front line fundraising team operating in a shared-ownership, outcome-driven environment that fosters coordination, strategy, and donor engagement from a University perspective. The Director will report to central Advancement and work closely with the Dean of CSA.
Clinical Counselor - Case Manager Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Michigan Tech and Counseling Services, a unit within Student Affairs is seeking candidates to fill the position of case manager/clinical counselor. This position provides clinical services and is also involved in care coordination for students who are hospitalized or deemed high risk by the Early Intervention Team or Counseling Services. This position will flexibly provide services to students in and out of the office through a variety of interventions, referrals, and follow up services. Responsibilities include psychosocial needs assessment, case management, and collaboration with university offices and external agencies. The case manager/clinical counselor will ensure that services are consistent with the mission and goals of the Division of Student Affairs and the University, and contribute to the richness of the student experience and quality of student life.
Research Scientist II - Infrared Remote Sensing Specialist Michigan Tech Research Institute (Ann Arbor, MI)
The Research Scientist II – Infrared Remote Sensing Specialist position provides leadership and support for MTRI programs focused on the development and application of remote sensing and geospatial analysis to solve governmental and societal needs through sponsored research. Knowledge of remote sensing theory, in particular infrared sensing (IR), and application for environmental science or transportation research is required. The applicant will be expected to develop, select, and lead remote sensing research projects that apply their knowledge of IR sensing. The ability to improve the processing and analysis of IR remote sensing data through custom coding and analysis will be important. Examples of current research areas include wildland and prescribed fire mapping and effects assessment, Great Lakes aquatic sensing, invasive species mapping, wetlands assessment, transportation infrastructure assessment, wildland fire danger and emissions mapping, cloud-based and distributed computing, user-friendly app development, improved geotemporal visualization of complex data and patterns, extending UAV-enabling sensing, and Arctic landscape change. Director Applied Chemical and Morphological Analysis Laboratory Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Michigan Tech seeks a director of its Applied Chemical and Morphological Analysis Laboratory (ACMAL). ACMAL is an interdisciplinary, university shared user facility that manages a suite of high-end structural characterization facilities including SEM (3 units), STEM (FEI Titan Themis), FIB, XES, AFM, XRD, XRF, and associated sample preparation facilities. The director manages the access and operational procedures, coordinates maintenance, oversees the personnel needs of the facility, interfaces with the campus-wide user community, coordinates user training, and leads or participates in efforts to expand capabilities and use. The Director will have a staff appointment in the Materials Science and Engineering Department, who manages the facility in behalf of the university. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the operation of electron-based imaging and analytical techniques in a research environment, be familiar with shared user-oriented facility model, demonstrated managerial skills, and a positive attitude compatible with providing efficient and high quality service to the university research community. A degree in the physical sciences, or engineering, or applied technology discipline is preferred.
Assistant Director, Research Development Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Assistant Director, Research Development will support researchers of Michigan Tech's Institute of Computing and Cybersystems (ICC) as they collectively work to create and implement activities aimed at the growth and development of ICC-affiliated research and graduate programs. By collaborating with, coaching/mentoring, and supporting the work of researchers at all levels, this individual will be integral to the business development and outreach of the ICC. The successful candidate will provide pre- and post-award support to institute members, assist with the financial processes for the institute, and help to lead the daily administrative functions of the institute.
