The Manager of Sustainability Projects and Outreach is a 12-month, full time position that will work collaboratively with the Department of Social Sciences, Office of Sustainability & Resilience, and the Tech Forward Initiative on Sustainability & Resilience. This position will help shape and support sustainability efforts at both the departmental level and across the institution. Core responsibilities include: 1) marketing and communications for sustainability degree programs, projects, and initiatives; 2) administrative and logistical support for new and ongoing sustainability initiatives; 3) identifying and supporting projects that increase sustainability performance and engagement; and 4) partnering across campus and in the community to develop and meet shared sustainability goals. This is a new position in a strategic priority area for the university, so there is opportunity for growth and resources for professional development.

Construction Manager Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Administer construction projects, supervise construction, perform on-site quality control inspections and coordinate safety of campus construction projects. Housing Operations Coordinator Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Housing Operations Coordinator is a 12-month, full time position responsible for coordinating multiple logistical operations for the department, ensuring an efficient housing operation that maximizes satisfaction for students. Responsibilities include direct management and oversight of the comprehensive front desk system in the university’s residence halls, ensuring the students are provided an exceptional customer service experience and that the facility is presenting an image consistent with the university. This position will assist with similar projects including the management of the Quad Core Fitness Centers in the halls, supervision of the Operations Assistants who provide facility support, and assist with summer conference planning. Additionally, they will partner with the Assistant Director of Housing to coordinate an off campus transition program for undergraduate resident students that helps prepare them for success in off campus living and provides them resources to listings to successfully find housing. Close proximity to campus is important to provide after hours support to operational functions as needed. Staff is provided a 1 bedroom on campus apartment at no cost and a meal plan. Staff may negotiate to reside off campus provided they are able to provide a response plan for after hours support.

Laboratory Instrument Coordinator Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Laboratory Instrument Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining scientific instruments and equipment for the teaching and research laboratories in the Department of Chemistry. The coordinator will work closely with faculty and lab supervisors in physical, analytical, biochemistry, and other courses. The coordinator will train graduate and undergraduate students to use the equipment, perform routine maintenance, work with vendors and service representatives, as needed. Some contributions to the teaching mission are expected including training teaching assistants, assisting with design of new laboratory modules, preparing demonstrations, and teaching troubleshooting skills.
