Postdoctoral Scholar, Atmospheric Physics Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The postdoctoral researcher will work with the MTU cloud chamber group to conduct experiments in support of the design of a large convection cloud chamber for exploration of aerosol processing and drizzle formation. Special attention will be given to topics of large uncertainty, including boundary conditions for water vapor, removal rates for diffusive aerosol particles, and removal rates for inertial cloud droplets. The postdoc will collaborate on bringing CFD and measurements into close and rigorous agreement in order to increase the level of confidence in the design of the convection cloud chamber.

Postdoctoral Scholar, Geological & Mining Engineering & Sciences Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The department of Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences is searching for a postdoctoral scholar in volcanology, atmospheric science, or remote sensing. This postdoctoral research associate will work on a new NASA-funded project to further develop and extend ultraviolet (UV) satellite-based measurements of volcanic sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions. The postdoc will analyze SO2 measurements derived from several past and current NASA and European satellite instruments (including the Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer [TOMS], Ozone Monitoring Instrument [OMI] and Tropospheric Monitoring Instrument [TROPOMI]), estimate volcanic SO2 emissions, and merge data from different satellite sensors to develop consistent, multi-decadal records of SO2 degassing.
Junior Analytical Chemist Main Campus (Houghton, MI)

He/she will be operating various analytical equipment in a university analytical laboratory. The Institute of Computing and Cybersystems (ICC) at Michigan Technological University (Michigan Tech) promotes collaborative, cross-disciplinary research and learning experiences in the areas of computing education, cyber-physical systems, cybersecurity, data sciences, human-centered computing, and scalable architectures and systems. As part of its mission, the ICC creates and supports an arena in which faculty and students work collaboratively across organizational boundaries in an environment that mirrors contemporary technological innovation. The ICC has 60 members, organized into six research centers, which represent more than 20 academic disciplines at Michigan Tech. Member scientists collaborate to conduct impactful research, make valuable contributions in the field of computing, and solve problems of critical national importance. The ICC seeks to hire outstanding scientific or engineering research scientists to collaboratively develop their research portfolios in all areas of computing, core science and applied. Priority will be given to applicants that can show research achievements in the six areas represented by the ICC Centers: computing education, cyber-physical systems, cybersecurity, data sciences, human-centered computing, and scalable architectures and systems. Consideration will also be given to exceptional candidates that work on the edges of these areas. Environmental Engineering Laboratory and Instrumentation Manager Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Environmental Engineering Laboratory and Instrumentation Manager will primarily support the teaching and research activities of the Environmental Engineering Program in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering (CEGE). The position will advance the strategic goals of the Department and University, including creating high-impact undergraduate programs, growing and strengthening graduate programs, and developing strong and sustainable research programs. This position will promote the safe and effective operation of these activities. This position will report to the Chair of the CEGE Department.
