The Assistant Director of Housing Operations, as a member of the Residence Education and Housing Services team, is responsible for being a transformational property manager in leading a thriving Daniell Heights/shared house community and assisting students in transitioning to independent living. This position is a champion of leading efficient logistical operations, ensuring precise organization as a property manager in overseeing all administrative functions of the campus apartments and houses, including contracts, tenants, applications, assignments, occupancy, and billing. This position will ensure their operational approach prioritizes assisting students to successfully transition to independent living by creating educational initiatives that successfully prepare students for the transition, provide guidance to help students establish agency in exploring solutions, and connect them with supportive resources.
Director of Global Campus and Continuing Education Lakeshore Center (Houghton, MI)
Michigan Technological University’s Global Campus is an initiative launched in 2021 that makes the possibility of earning an online graduate degree or certificate available to a broader range of students, including working professionals and career changers. MTU Global Campus is committed to enhancing opportunities for nontraditional students and industrial partners. The Global Campus team provides strategic direction to develop and drive an online and continuing education strategy to ensure the university meets nontraditional and online education needs through evolving learning modalities, helping professionals remain competitive in the marketplace, and helping industrial partners access skilled employees. The Director of Global Campus and Continuing Education is responsible for the operations of the global campus, directly managing staff (admissions, marketing, support services) and financial management (invoicing/payments). This “hands on” working role involves close collaboration with academic departments, faculty, and staff to oversee online degree and non-credit programs. The Director evaluates and suggests innovative concepts, technologies, and delivery modes for online learning, ensuring the quality of online courses and compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Additionally, they act as the contact for marketing and corporate partners.
Assistant Director of Residence Education Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
As a member of the Residence Education and Housing Services team, the Assistant Director of Residence Education will partner with the Director in creating an inclusive and intentional residential education experience for students. This position is a champion for student and staff development and is responsible for the supervision, recruitment, and training of student and professional staff. The person in this position supports initiatives related to the continued development and retention of students living in the residence halls at Michigan Technological University. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the person in this role will focus on preparing for the opening of a new 516 bed residence hall in Fall 2025. This is a 12-month position. A furnished apartment is provided on site, however staff can explore off campus housing and be successful in the position.
Residence Education Coordinator Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
As a member of the Residence Education and Housing Services team, the Residence Education Coordinator will assume a vital role in the residence life program for the growth of the individual through community living. The Residence Education Coordinator is responsible for providing and supporting student development and leadership, building community, and promoting learning in the residence halls. Director of International Programs and Services Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Director of International Programs and Services (IPS), reporting to the Associate Dean of Students, works with international students on F and J Visas and works with faculty and staff on facilitating study abroad for the University. The Director ensures the institution's compliance with all U.S. Homeland Security and State Department regulations and Higher Learning Commission accreditation standards, enacts proactive approaches for facilitating students' cultural transitions and acculturation, advocates to advance initiatives that contribute to student's success and well-being, and works both on and off-campus to foster a vibrant and welcoming community for students and visiting scholars.
Assistant Director Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Assistant Director of Student Leadership and Involvement assists the office in providing strong educational, social, and leadership development-oriented, co-curricular experiences that enhance student learning and campus life at Michigan Technological University. Reporting to the Director of Student Leadership and Involvement, the Assistant Director is the primary individual to plan, execute, and evaluate leadership development programs and community service initiatives. This individual also oversees risk management for student organizations, supervises student office staff, and advises Undergraduate Student Government. The Assistant Director also works collaboratively within the SLI office to design and implement engaging programs and activities promoting student life, building leadership capacity, and supporting student success amongst a vibrant, inclusive student body.
