Director, CLC & Undergraduate Student Advisor Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Director of the Chemistry Learning Center is responsible for recruiting, hiring, scheduling, training and supervising a diverse staff of undergraduate coaches (tutors) and Supplemental instruction Leaders for the purpose of increased retention and success of students in the first- and second-year chemistry courses at the University, particularly in transitioning from high school to college. Additionally, this position assists with various administrative aspects relating to large lectures as well as being the primary academic advisor for undergraduate students in the Department of Chemistry
Assistant Research Engineer Keweenaw Research Center (Near Houghton County Airport)
Support the execution of tasks related to engineering projects. Project tasks include, but aren’t limited to, development, fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, repair, and evaluation of ground vehicle electronics and related subsystems.
Housing Operations Coordinator Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Housing Operations Coordinator is a 12-month, full time position responsible for coordinating multiple logistical operations for the department, ensuring an efficient housing operation that maximizes satisfaction for students. Responsibilities include direct management and oversight of the comprehensive front desk system in the university’s residence halls, ensuring the students are provided an exceptional customer service experience and that the facility is presenting an image consistent with the university. This position will assist with similar projects including the management of the Quad Core Fitness Centers in the halls, supervision of the Operations Assistants who provide facility support, and assist with summer conference planning. Additionally, they will partner with the Assistant Director of Housing to coordinate an off campus transition program for undergraduate resident students that helps prepare them for success in off campus living and provides them resources to listings to successfully find housing. Close proximity to campus is important to provide after hours support to operational functions as needed. Staff is provided a 1 bedroom on campus apartment at no cost and a meal plan. Staff may negotiate to reside off campus provided they are able to provide a response plan for after hours support.
Custodian Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Responsible for the performance of routine and special custodial duties in facilities and grounds as assigned. Work is performed in accordance with instructions and schedules provided, with results regularly inspected. Provide excellent customer service to a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Manager of Budget & Planning – Auxiliary Services Lakeshore Center (Houghton, MI)
The Budget Office and the Associate Vice President for Administration are looking for a 12-month, full-time Manager of Budget & Planning. The Manager will ensure that the financial planning functions and business transactions of Auxiliary Services are meeting customer needs, departmental targets, and that planning is forward-looking and strategic to address the growth needs of the University. Assistant Research Scientist Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Great Lakes Research Center (GLRC) at Michigan Technological University (Michigan Tech) promotes collaborative, multidisciplinary research across the College of Computing, the College of Engineering, the College of Sciences and Arts, the College of Business, and the College of Forest Resources and Environmental Sciences. The GLRC supports research development and implementation for more than 100 affiliated faculty and researchers and serves as a non-academic department for research administration and technical staff, and a growing team of research scientists. The Institute is seeking to hire a research scientist in coupled regional climate and hydrodynamic modeling to: 1) support an existing portfolio of research, 2) seek and secure their own externally funded research, 3) contribute to others’ research portfolios, and 4) provide on-campus and external outreach to help foster Institute growth. The GLRC is looking for an individual with the knowledge and skills to join its growing team of research scientists. This position is 80% soft funded and 20% department funded. During the first year of employment the hired individual will be expected to assist with existing funded research for a variety of federal and international agencies. Annual contract renewal is contingent upon securing additional project funding.

The Senior Advisor reports to the Assistant Director for Career Services and Corporate Relations. With the support of the office team and guided by our vision for students and desired student learning and return-on-investment outcomes, the Senior Advisor designs, teaches, evaluates, and advises students on career readiness and professional development learning opportunities, services, courses, and high impact practices from conception to evaluation with an emphasis on student success from enrollment to post-graduation. Services and advice focus on securing and maintaining gainful employment, career success, and longevity in the workforce. Although the Senior Advisor will work with all students, the primary target will be juniors and seniors. Services need to be delivered through individual, group, virtual, and classroom formats as appropriate. Laboratory Instrument Coordinator Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Laboratory Instrument Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining scientific instruments and equipment for the teaching and research laboratories in the Department of Chemistry.
