The Professor and Executive Director of the Institute of Computing and Cybersystems (ICC) is a forward thinking, innovative, and collaborative leader who provides strategic leadership for the computing research enterprise at Michigan Technological University. The position is open to areas of computing and information science research, with a particular emphasis on AI and data science. The selected candidate will hold a faculty appointment within the unit most closely aligned to their background, likely within the College of Computing. Beyond their faculty role, the executive director role reports directly to the Vice President for Research. Working with the vice president of research, the academic deans, ICC centers and staff, and other stakeholders, the next executive director will increase the institute's computing and information science research reputation and create a culture of collaboration and growth. This will require visionary leadership and the ability to build new collaborations, support innovation, and create a research environment that will attract new talent.
Senior Research Engineer Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Michigan Technological University is seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) position that serves as an advocate and technical resource for Michigan’s local (city, village, county) agencies. The position will provide engineering technical support for activities underway at the Center for Technology & Training, which includes work with the Michigan Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP), the Great Lakes Environmental Infrastructure Center (GLEIC), the Bridge Load Rating Program, the Roadsoft asset management software package, and other research projects. The position requires a strong background in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation (roads or bridges), or environmental infrastructure (drinking water, sewer, and storm water systems).
Associate or Full Professor, Endowed Jim and Lorna Mack Chair of Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Michigan Technological University (MTU) is searching for an endowed Jim and Lorna Mack Chair of Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering (ChE). The individual who fills this position should be an eminent scholar in the field of bioengineering as evidenced by an excellent record of research publications, sustained extramural funding, and graduating Ph.D.’s. The area of research is open, but preference will be applied toward those who complement existing research at Michigan Tech.
