Job Description Summary

This position will develop and oversee strategic planning, staffing, financial management, and quality control for the Registrar’s Office, Enterprise Program, Jackson Center for Teaching and Learning, and Pavlis Honors College. The successful candidate will also serve as a member of deans council and provide oversight to the University related to the general education program as well as assessment and accreditation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

1. Report to the provost, serve as the entity responsible for strategic planning, staffing, financial management, and quality control for the Registrar’s Office, Enterprise Program, Jackson Center for Teaching and Learning, and Pavlis Honors College.
2. In collaboration with the Provost and deans, ensure quality of undergraduate programming including foundational offerings for first-year students and the University's general education program.
3. Provide oversight for the University’s undergraduate degree programs and assessment of those programs.
4. Provide oversight for the University’s general education program and processes of assessing the effectiveness of the program.
5. Ensure continuous improvement of student learning through implementation of effective evaluation processes.
6. Guide and participate in the external review of undergraduate degree programs.
7. Guide and participate in the curriculum review process.
8. Provide oversight for foundational learning centers that support general education and first-year programming.
9. In collaboration with the Registrar’s office, provide oversight for undergraduate academic advising.
10. Lead processes and procedures associated with University accreditation by its regional accreditor.
11. Engage in processes associated with accreditation of undergraduate degree programs by specialty accreditors as needed.
12. Other duties as assigned.
13. Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives.
14. Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work.

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)

• Tenured faculty member

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

• Experience with assessment of student learning.
• Experience preparing for program reviews by external groups.
• Experience mentoring students.
• Experience supervising professionals in an academic setting (employees, post-docs, or PhD-level graduate students).
• Demonstrated commitment to enhancing a sense of belonging among students and employees.

Desirable Education and/or Experience

Experience as a supervisor (staff, faculty, and/or students).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
• Demonstrated commitment to contribute to a safe work environment.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across traditional disciplinary boundaries.
• Track record of promoting education-related innovations designed to increase enrollment and retention.
• Familiarity with the purpose of general education, and the rationale for constraints to general education programs imposed by University and external entities.
• Track record of seeking and obtaining external funding for education or research projects.
