Job Description Summary Provide general support and administration of MTRI computer networks and systems. Provide computer software development/system support to research and development programs. Support and maintain MTRI cyber security infrastructure. The position is based at MTRI in Ann Arbor, MI (www.mtri.org). Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) 1. Support, maintain, and update computer systems.2. Troubleshoot and repair computer systems.3. Participate as part of the team charged with making MTRI NIST-800-171, DFARS Clause 252.204-7012, and CMMC compliant and maintaining compliance.4. Continue to improve performance by being aware of new technologies and software products, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.5. Accept ownership of, and responsibility for responding to, new and different requests.6. Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work.7. Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives.8. Other duties as assigned. Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other computer related discipline or equivalent experience. Required Experience (minimum requirements) • Three to five years of experience in computer/network support and administration.• Three to five years of experience administrating Linux systems.• Experience in scripting and/or coding. Desirable Education and/or Experience • Windows administration.• Security+ certification.• Experience using software monitoring and compliance tools, such as NESSUS, SPLUNK and SCAP.• Experience with network backup systems.• IT helpdesk experience. Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements) • Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance, which requires United States citizenship. May not possess dual citizenship.• Excellent written/oral communication skills.• Demonstrated organizational ability and attention to detail.• Ability to take direction, but work without continuous oversight.• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to significant matters related to job duties.• Demonstrated commitment to contribute to a safe work environment. Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities • Knowledge of information assurance and cyber defense policies and best practices.
